I think most people from UK will disagree with this.

We are a Germanic people.

We are Anglo Saxons and Germans are our first cousins so to speak.

Scotland,Wales and Ireland from what I know are considering themselves celts and UK is called "The United Kingdom" not England.
And you are considering yourself german,but that does not make most of people from UK considering themselves germans neither most of the people from England considering themselves german.
