I guess people eat what they like,i am sure italian pizza is more heathy but it is not as popular in rest of the world.American pizza is a story for it self

I don't care if it is not popular in the rest of the world, on the contrary, I would be GLAD if the rest of the world would ignore our traditions and would not contaminate it and/or the rest of the world would understand that they have to come to Italy if they want to know this country and its traditions and cuisines.
Americans and Australians transform also a cereals soup is something extremely caloric, this is why they are the 1st and the 2nd most obese countries.

And I agree with Perduellio, pizza abroad is a s***. We Italians know some locals abroad where you can eat good Italian, but they are usually as rare as a white fly. In Australia I have eaten for 3 months nightmare and bread and came back to Italy with 3 kilos more. A friend of mine stayed one year and took 12 kilos!! Wtf do they eat for Christ's sake? And we should be so mad to copy them???

Yes, muslims don't eat pork and don't drink alchool. Real Italian pizza needs brewer's yeast to rise so it should be forbidden to muzzies. Also, many Italian pizzas are dressed with salami, row ham, sausages or würstel.
