I know for real now that God is real, all the doubts I had in my mind -- that were mostly brought on by difficult circumstances -- were washed away, dissipated like mist before the morning sun.

I had a genuine experience of God's presence when I was 13 years ago. No matter how much I tried to rationalize it due to my own personal hurt, I had to be honest with myself and know that it was the most real thing in my life.

What I can advise you, is to seek the truth with all your being, then you will find it. You will find God and realize that He is your creator.

Even when we don't understand it, at least at the time, as we are "infants in this life".

Thus, those who accept truth are those who will admit they don't have it all figured out. Those who can truly ask for wisdom, will.

What I mean is that my family is deeply Catholic but gave me the choice to be baptized or not.

I am a part of a minority of people from my country who are Eastern Orthodox. Technically if you consider only practicing religious people we are not that small of a minority, since most are atheists today. Most religious people there are Catholic, originally we were Orthodox (and some survived via Vlachs, Serbians coming and converting people back to Orthodoxy, and some modern people convert or marry into Orthodox families such as Ukrainian refugees), and there are some Protestants as well since we are not far from where that religion originated.

Born and raised Catholic. However, my maternal family is Jewish. When I was 12-13 my maternal grandparents were trying to convince me to have a bar mitzvah, so my mom explained to me in detail what that would mean for me, and I rejected it. I cannot stop being Catholic because I know that Catholicism is the Truth.
