BTW, we all know that Albanians are not Illyrians.
Sokol, yes, modern Albs-Shqiptars are not Illyrians, we all know this! It's well known they arrive into Serbia, via Drac, no earlier than 1081AD from Sicily as Roman/Byzantine mercenary Soliders from Sicily! Whatever Albs talk here is garbage, it won't ever be recognised....hearsay villager talk never makes logical sense!

Kosovo is probably from Bulgarian. The bulgarians conquered the area and named it kosovo, it went between byzantium and bulgaria, and then in 13th century it was conquered by the Serbian empire. Because it is a slavic word it makes it slavic? so if i conquer china and call it albania, does it make it albanian? Who do you think the indigenous people were from? my ancestors always lived in kosovo, before ottoman empire. It was Romans, Bulgarians, byzantium and then Serbs who conquered this area.. and then Ottomans. but somehow its Serb?

The region was called Dardania. According to Johan Georg Vohn hahn, austrian linguist, Dardania derives from the Albanian word Dardhe (pear) which meant the same in illyrian (darde)

There were no slavs living in the balkans prior to roman conquest. Albanians and greeks are the only non-slavic speaking people. But somehow you think you are illyrians? tell me, how are Albanians locked in the balkans around slavs and greeks?

Illyrians didn't speak slavic, the proposed linked language has been Albanian. there is barely anything in illyrian, there is barely anything in proto-albanian... it speaks for itself where modern albanian came from.. allot of the surviving words are the same in Albanian. also, in Dardania, there lived both Illyrians and Thracians. probably related people.

How did all Illyrians-thracians-dacians become slavic or latin? Illyrians first became latin then slavic? nonsense... its very well known slavs came from carpathian mountains as mercenaries for the roman empire

What you talk is garbage. Albanians have latin loan words dating back to roman time, before the arrival of slavs. there were only illyrians and thracians around the area, meaning proto-Albanians lived there.. then came slavs conquered area, and all people slavs except for Albanians THE SURVIVORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One example of the authochthony of the Albanians in Kosovo is the fact that there exist Kosovar Catholics all around west of Dukagjini/Metohija while the Serb arguement is that Albanians came there with Ottomans as Muslims. Only 200 years ago or something, my family was Kosovar Catholics and I'm also from West Kosovo, and tradionally the West of Kosovo was actually Catholic while the East was Orthodox.

It doesn't really matter if Albanians were at some point a minority in Kosovo, the whole point is that they lived there before Serbs. They became a minority when Slavs arrived and then became a majority again OR Many were Orthodox and most likely written down as Serbs and slavic names, (this has happened with Vlachs so why not Albanians?), and when Ottomans came they converted to Islam, both Catholics and Orthodox and saw it as a liberation from Slavs. Up till 1930's you could still find Serb Orthodox Albanians even around the west of kosovo and these were called Serbs by other Albanians because of their religion.

The west of Kosovo has also been historically Albanian Catholic and was ruled by the Dukagjini family, one of their most known was Leke Dukagjini, an Albanian Catholic and compatriot of Skanderbeg, who founded the Kanun of Leke Dukagjini and was most likely from todays Kosovo.
