Default Ethnically speaking do Austrians resemble more Slovaks or the eastern French?

I would say despite Austria bordering Slovakia there is honestly more overlap with eastern and northern France than with Slovakia, the Austrians are a basically western looking people.

Yes, Austrians are mostly Western European-looking. They are as a whole a Germanic people.

They share phenotypes with both, and genetically in between of these

Between Slovaks and Austrian there may be mostly shared that Dinarid-Norid kind of appearance

I mean sometimes you can tell a difference, sometimes you wouldn't be able to. There are European racial types that exist everywhere from France to Eastern Europe, like Alpine, Dinarid, Norid etc.

Eastern Euros are usually a mix of Baltid, pontid, gorid, dinarid and Danubian, the most western looking east euros I have found tend to come from northern Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and parts of Serbia.

In my opinion phenotypes are more regional thing than national. I live in Poland quite close to Slovakian border and here aren't so much Danubian, Baltid or Gorid phenotypes Westerners think about while imagining East European, I would say it's like around 30-40% by my personal experience. It's a lot but not the majority.

You could tell if someone is from Belarus for example, Baltid type for example is not really frequent in my region.

I thought you would have a lot of gorids there, even if a Polish person is alpine or noric they will usually have residual influences from other types, I see a lot of Polish here in England, not many look western.
