    Seem to get a lot of these types amongst Cricketers, probably because the grass roots of Cricket in England are village teams right through the whole country.

    Also Yorkshire and the North has a strong influence too, Cricket is v popular there with many key players in teams through the ages, and is the strongest AS region in the whole of Britain.

    In Australia Cricket follows similar lines, most migrants to Australia too came from the more AS parts as well

    Fast Bowlers in particular tend to be quite Nordic (a semi-serious observation). Same for Goalkeepers in Football.

    Not necessarily, English migrants to Australia came from all over, mostly from the most populous/industrial areas. But Cricket in Australia is still very 'Anglo', compared to the population and to other sports.
