What genetic mix would you expect them to have? Predominantly English with some Germanic and Norwegian? I wonder if someone could suggest the ideal genetic makeup for an Anglo-Saxon. I suppose an ancestry test would simply show 100% English.
Many are trying to suggest the Anglo-Saxon people are a mongrel race and not a distinct ethnicity. However, the truth is they are less mixed than many ethnicities that are generally protected. Britain is an island meaning we were to a certain extent held away from the rest of the world.

Anglo-Saxons fresh off the boat are genetically closer to Scandinavians than current-day Englishmen. They would probably score predominantly Sweden & Denmark on AncestryDNA followed by Germanic Europe and Norway. England & Northwestern Europe to varying degrees, but mostly by admixed (Britonnic) Anglo-Saxons.

Definitely not a good example. This look is associated to proto-Kelts (he resembles Dying Gaul a lot): not common at all in Scandinavians...
