    Default Moles

Are certain ethnicities more prone to have more moles than others?
Have you ever noticed any pattern?

Are moles even a genetic trait?
I believe they are, because I have dozens of moles all over my body, so does my brother and so does all of my family from my father's side.

    Discuss, or not.

Mmm the Japanese seem to have more than other East-Asians, especially compared to Koreans I think.

That's interesting because I was under the assumption that Japanese and Koreans were genetically very similar.

No, they aren't. Japanese people have Ainu influence which Koreans don't have.

Wouldn't Ainu influence be restricted to some parts of Japan by now and only a very small amount of their genome?

Most Japanese are a mixture between Jomon (Ainu-like) and Yayoi (Korean-like). Overall the Yayoi ancestry is much higher than the Jomon, but Japanese people are still distinguishable (to the trained eye) from mainland East Asians because of Ainu/Jomon elements in them.

I can often tell Japanese people apart, they tend to have more gracile features and less of the extremely round, flat-faced look. This may be due to the Ainu influence.

But at the same time I think many of them do look like Koreans. Not so much like Chinese though.

Japanese people are also slightly darker and hairier than Koreans.
