Well that would only go for Macedonians who originate from Skopje and Kumanovo, otherwise, the rest of us Macedonians are closer to Bulgarians.

I'm not denying we are also close to Bulgarians (they're our fellow South Slavs after all)
Please don't turn this in a thread about Macedonians.

You're a Srboman. I am from a village southeast of Kumanovo and I have no Serbian ancestors recent or far back.

The only influence I have of Serbian culture is when my family surname was changed from Filipov to Filipovic after 1913.

Never happened to me, thankfully. My family surname has always had the ski ending.

I'm not a Srboman (I don't say Kosovo je Srbija ) and you might be one of the few Macedonians in Kumanovo with no Serbian ancestry.
But like Lithium said, this isn't the right thread to discuss this.

Oprosti for ignoring you it really wasn't on purpose though - after I replied to what Lena replied to me when I asked if she could understand Slovenian, I went browsing the forum and didn't check the chatbox further...

But generally speaking, Slovenes don't feel particularly close to Bulgarians. Don't worry though, this is not anything personal and has nothing to do with you as a people. I guess it's just the way we are. For example, we are even closer to Croats and Serbs, but an average Slovene will never admit that sober. To be honest, Slovenes are too butthurt to associate with anyone. "We're not like anyone else, we're too special."

    My village:

I have no problem with Serbs but when they try to impose their culture on us they can GTFO.
