Default Are Heathen religions filling the religious void in Europe?

Western Europe appears to be only nominally religious, Christian only really for traditional ceremonial purposes such as marriages and funerals. On the other hand Heathen religions seem to be growing in number (even if they're membership is very low).
What are your thoughts? Are some people turning to Heathen religions for moral guidance in the absence of a Christian society?

I think that the old myths can provide a basis of cultures to define themselves and move forward into the future.

But actually worshipping ancient gods? I don't see that happening. All religions require some measure of suspending observable reality. But in an era that increasingly defines the world by scientific laws, going back to a view that places multiple gods and monsters as what causes the world around us to act as it does would require a massive shift of thought in society, one which I don't think that would be beneficial. I just can't see modern, secular Europeans suddenly doing blood sacrifices and observing the flight patterns of ravens as omens. Unless Odin and Cernunnos strode into the European Parliament, I doubt authentic Heathenry is going to make much headway.

So we are going to dump one mythology for another? Sweet. How about replacing the faulty, unreliable, silly mind's faculty like faith with something as useful, practical and enlightening as awareness? Instead of worshiping and repeating meaningless formulas how about observing reality? No? Too straight forward, not enough magic and miracles and there is no one to save us and do the hard work for us? Well, maybe it's time to grow up? We've been stupid long enough. How about that?

I think that the answer is clearly - Yes. Just look at the situation in Great Britain, now you have an official religion called Druidry and I think that's great. People need to return to their roots, even if they use just the symbolism I think it's still better than Christianity.

Well I haven't actually advocated anything here, you can see my posts elsewhere and my thoughts on religion.

If there's a religion that Europeans should convert back(If they need one) this is Paganism.

Whole Europe is based on Christian values and moral and it's stupid to push paganism over Christianity.

People are turning to Heathenism because it's what people feel. Christianity was forced on everyone by blood and fire. Now it's indoctrinated through schools. Christianity in Europe keeps the pagan rituals though like Yule. I don't see a problem with it. Do you?
