Norwegian immigration/migration history reflection in DNA ect..

I thought i would kick it off with a quickly made map of the main immigrant groups since the middle ages onwards:



i am hoping i can compliment this with DNA data eventually, just wanted to start the thread so i am committed...i am also hoping the soon to be released features at 23andme.com will help in illuminating this...

It would be interesting to study how these various groups contributed to the population growth in Norway, there was quite a population boom in Norway during the 17th and 18th century, in the early 16th century the population was roughly 150 000, while in the mid 17th century it had risen to 400 000 and at the beginning of the 18th century it was 700 000.



I think it's very safe to assume that most Norwegians have some ancestry from these historical immigrant groups.

Well since summer came ive been forgetting this project, but i will eventually get back to it..i was hoping to use Ancestry finder for this..we could create a spreadsheet where we fill in various segments and check them ect...

My Ancestry Finder results from the aforementioned groups at 5cm, 1+ grandparents from the same country(no colonials)

Sweden 1.1% - 3.3%
United Kingdom - 0.7% - 2.1%
Denmark 0.5% - 1.3%
Germany 0.4% - 2.2%
Finland 0.4% - 1.4%
Netherlands 0.3% - 0.5%
Russia 0.2% - 0.6%
Iceland 0.0% - 0.5%


Most of my AF finder results match up with historical Scandinavian migration and immigration patterns.
