That's the theory, but look at the outcomes. Most people today marry someone they have cohabited with. That means that they have already lived like a married couple before they are formally married. So in practice the marriage starts when you cohabit.

I would not, I believe only in "pass-time women" and THE wife.
I'm probably influenced by how my parents raised me though.
A pass-time person virgin or not, it doesn't matter since you're
not going to make a family, but for wife, it is, except she is a
badass person or kinky.
But you're right, most persons cohabit, then marry because they
have children and they have to pay less taxes...But still, they hesitated to marry, so there is something wrong about it.

Only if you are wealthy or have loads of charisma. The average guy can't get laid for free. At least not consistently.
