Default Do men have less testosterone than they did in the past?

I see a lot of little chubby, eunuch like men around these days.

When I was a kid the men were charged with it. Have a look at cliff richard in the 70's. He was considered a pretty boy, but observe his mannerisms, face bone structure and general aura and you'll notice even he was far more masculine than most men today. Admittedly the 70's was a very macho time for men.

My father and my uncles were real men. I not talking about the personality change in men. There are plenty of men who act far nicer and smoother than men back then but are still manly. But there are a real lot of those chubby little soft men. They aren't feminine. They just seem low on the testosterone.

I don't know if this is to do with dropping sperm counts or not.

I'm not opining whether it's good or bad, so let's get that out of the way for a start.

    Any ideas?

Yes, i also believe men had higher testosterone and lived harder lives in the past. But their life expectancy was around 30 years old.

I don't think they are any different, after I've seen my cousin in his freshman year of high school(age 15) bench 300 pounds(136 kg).

They probably do. Some studies show drops in sperm counts and/or testosterone levels over the generations. It's connected to contamination from chemicals. My dad's generation seemed more macho than my generation. My nephew's generation seems less manly than my generation. Of course, there are exceptions to these rules. On an anecdotal note, my old friends' dads were better at handy and mechanical work than they were. That could be cultural, though.

Sort of depends on which men you are looking at in the 1970's
The Hippies were not very masculine at all.

If you ask me most of the Gen X and some Gen Y, guys are way more masculine than your average baby boomer hippie.

I don't know any of them that were pacifist, or liberals.
