Feather bonnet is a type of military headdress used mainly by the Scottish Highland infantry regiments of the British Army from about 1763 until the outbreak of World War I. It is now mostly worn by pipers and drummers in various bands throughout the world. It is also worn in a similar fashion by regiments in various Commonwealth armies.

No one wears them anymore. More recent is the fact that working class men wore a flat cap or beret and the gentlemen a (top) hat.

The Fez is worn only for folklore.

But the Beret has become kinda like an almost-national hat. It's common among old men (my grandfather wore one for 20 years).

    National Catalan hat: the barretina

A barretina (Catalan pronunciation: [bərəˈtinə], diminutive of barret "cap") is a traditional hat that was frequently worn by men in parts of Christian cultures of the Mediterranean sea such as the Catalan (Catalonia, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands) and in areas of former Catalan influence (Provence, Corsica, Sicily, Sardinia, part of Naples and part of the Balkans).

In Catalonia and Ibiza, men wore barretina until the 19th century, especially in rural areas. It is in the form of a bag, made of wool, usually red, or sometimes purple. Today, the barretina is no longer commonly worn in everyday life, but is still used in traditional dances, or as a symbol of Catalan identity. Salvador Dalí re-popularized the barretina in the first half of the 20th century. Many Catalan folkloric characters or iconic figures also wear a barretina.

    In Popular Culture
Moments before the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and the Netherlands, pitch invader Jimmy Jump rushed onto the field and attempted to place a barretina on the World Cup trophy before being apprehended by several security guards.

Was bought a hat like that for Christmas, looked ridiculous on me. They're quite popular.

Not everybody can wear one. You have to be a Catalan or Papa Smurf.

    Kalpak

Originally a Turkic word, Kalpak (from Turkish: kalpak [kaɫˈpak]; Kazakh: қалпақ, Bulgarian and Serbian: калпак, Kyrgyz: калпак) is a high-crowned cap (usually made of felt or sheepskin) worn by men in Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Iran, Azerbaijan and throughout Central Asia and the Caucasus.
