When nature photographer Erez Marom recently reached out to us to share his Iceland photographs, we were in complete awe of the breathtaking places—including Godafoss, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the whole world—that the artist captures through his adventurous explorations. Each magical landscape conveys the silent and dazzling beauty that Iceland has to offer.

Born and based in Israel, Marom says he is drawn to the cold climate of Iceland because it is so unlike the warmer climate of his home country. Every year, he spends a full month traveling throughout Iceland to capture the golden sunsets, Northern lights, frozen waterfalls, and wintery atmosphere, occasionally using long exposures to maximize the alluring elegance of the place.

Marom says, "I think more people should be exposed to these so-called 'harsh' landscapes. Often times, they're much more exciting and spectacular than tropical beaches or green meadows. I'd like to allow people to understand that these, seemingly, alien places are right there and that you can visit them and enjoy what our world has to offer, in a different way." With that in mind, Marom offers three annual photography workshops where he leads people on a photographic journey throughout the mesmerizing country.

Hafnarfjörður is Iceland's third largest town, with a population of over 29.800 where daily life and culture thrives in the middle of an old lava field. The town retains its small-town air, its rural aura and its heart - which is not surprising given that the it prides itself on the largest unbroken neighborhood of corrugated iron-clad timber houses in Iceland. Enjoy this winter drive after first snowfall in 2019 where i take you trough the diverse building history, starting in the town center from where we move into the oldest part and from there into more recent neighborhoods, and end by the docks. For me personally it's always a pleasure to visit Hafnarfjörður. Even the town is a part of the capital area, it has it's own soul and people from there distinct them from rest of the capital area and want to be able to seek all service locally. It's something that the people from the other towns that create the capital area usually do since it's hard to see whan you are in Reykjavik or the surrounding towns of Garðabær, Kópavogur, Seltjarnarnes and of course Hafnarfjörður with it's own soul.

    Góðan daginn

Iceland actually has huge problems with their oversizes tourims. Yes, it one hand brings money & incomes to island but it also already causes lots of real lifes problems.

So if you go there ... please respect local people (and their life) ... you're guest there ... no matter if you have ''dollars'' in your pockets.

I have one friend (Islandic girl) with whom I post time to time.

Maybe this corona epidemic stop that for some time...

Or just stop/reduce it? I would be not unhappy at all if tourism would become smaller.
