    My father was excellent at both. It's not the same at all because football is very difficult for those who start late as I did. If you don't play in childhood you can be only average player at best (like I was). I only could juggle a lot but I was average to bad player whose biggest quality was work rate. It's different with basketball. I have very long arms and quickly learned basic moves and simply it comes much more naturally to me.

    Football needs more technical ability whereas basketball needs more physical fitness AFAIK.

    Yep, fine movement with foot is lot more difficult to learn than using hands for basketball. I'm very athletic for a girl and that probably helps me a lot with basketball.
    Plus my arms are disproportionately long for my frame.

    Fine movement with foot might also be a native ability, in my opinion.

    They are similar for footwork, core movements, and conditioning, etc the majority of physical aspects. Mentally both games are similar tactics with different # players 11vs5

    I pickup serious Football later in life around 19 before that was just street football, park fields neighborhood. I am striker, with midfielder and defender skills. In Basketball I am good.

    Yes, they are similar in many aspects but I guess basketball requires more physical fitness because the tempo of the game is much higher in basketball than in football.

    Yes Basketball you will need more fast twitch muscles and VO2 max (maximum volume oxygen) ability than Football is more aerobic continuous jogging style. Athletes are better in Basketball, tall Footballers Zlatan for example score many goals.

    While COVID era I have not been able to skate (synchronized skating = team figure skating) and hardly even skate on real ice / in hall, so I have basically trained alone and alot inline figure skating. I admit, the beginning was bit tricky, but now I start to be quite good . Will defenetly continue this (someways) even then as COVID is behind.
