Which one of you want to sell me some of your EQ points?

Edit: On a side-note the change-your-mood feature here helps me learn more about emotions.

I can give you my take on the subject. I have no formal training in psychology, my experience is entirely from observation during meditation.

As you fine tune the perception process to filter out junk and to make the mind a mirror ( no judgement, no concepts, no prejudices, no preferences or anything else influencing and warping perception ) you'll start seeing the very moment any sense door ( 5 senses ) or the subconscious impressions as they arise in the mind, and immediately start influencing and changing reality. There are only 3 feelings namely: positive, negative and neutral but a multitude of emotions. Emotions are reactions to feelings and every impression has a feeling associated with it. Majority of people are not aware how that works or how it influences their mind, but those who do, have an option to observer reality without changing it. It ain't easy but it is doable. Most see no reason to even try, an that's where the difference between those who can really see reality and the rest is.

In our society people either suppress feeling, get overly emotional or do anywhere in between. There are very few people who understand how the process works.

In conclusion, I can't give you my points, you have to change your own mind to earn them.

Thank you very much! I've been trying through therapy, but it is such a pain. There are too many things that are assumed as natural for others which I can't even begin to grasp without a LOT of effort.

Can you explain the three feelings: positive, neutral, negative? Particularly I understand what would be positive or negative, but what would be an emotional response to neutral?

    Again thank you!

Neutral feeling is one which does not attach the mind to a phenomena. They are more than 95% of feelings we have. In other words it is the feeling which we ignore entirely in "normal" mode of perception. We are preoccupied with positive and negative feelings, they are all we normally care about. In other words we either run after pleasant or run away from the unpleasant any way we can and ignore the "boring" neutral stuff.

The problem with that approach is that the neutral feeling is the most beneficial, because if emphasized and it leads to equanimity, which is far superior to happiness. Equanimity is the state of mind which is unshakable by either positive or negative, it's always in curious neutral, it's observing reality as an impartial observer a perfect view point to see reality as it truly is.
