Is musculature really connected to your heritage? I'd expect diet and level of physical activity to be the most important factor. A pure faelid eating only white rice from birth is not going to be built like a tank.

What an odd question, of course it is. Bone density, robustness etc. are all linked to race/ethnicity, why wouldn't muscles be?

Black Africans(maybe excl. East Africans) have denser, more robust bones and a higher muscle to fat ratio and more fast twitch muscle fibers than Caucasoids.
This is partially why they kick ass at boxing or short distance running.

Individual differences are always gonna be larger though.

The tallest natural giant was a man called Angus MacAskill who was 2.36 m tall. The Dinka are on average 176 as far as I know; impressive considering living conditions and such, but not the tallest people or close to being so.

Angus MacAskill was also the strongest man on record by a distance. He had massive proportions. 85 inch (215cm) chest, 44 inches (112 cm) across shoulders, feet 8 inch (20cm) wide and shoes were 19 inches (48cm) long etc.

Angus was incredibly strong too. It seems like people of Gaelic Scottish descent are more apt to be strength athletes than are people of Gaelic Irish descent. Look at the Highland Games and strongman competitions. Does Scandinavian blood make the difference?

That's nonsense. Strongmen competitions are not very big in ireland. Not many people would know who Brian Shaw, Eddie Hall or Halfthor Bjornsson is. It's not like in the former soviet union where it was very popular.

In rugby Ireland is usually a level about Scotland since the sport turned professional. Not that that tells you much.

How do the somatotypes(mesomorph, ectomorph, endomorph) match up with the subraces of Europe?

I'm thinking of the traditional ones, Nordid, Cromagnid, Alpinid, Baltid, Dinarid, Mediterranid(robust and gracile), and Atlantid.
