The phenotype which characterizes England is the Anglo-Saxon, this type distinguishes the English from other British Isles' people. The Keltic Nordic is the commonest type not only in the British Isles, the Netherlands,Belgium and parts of Germany and northern Switzerland. People who brought the Anglo-Saxon racial type to that part of Britain are "the true English" in that sense. Other non-major racial type are the North and Palaeo-Atlantid,Brunn,Borreby, Tronder,Hallstatt Nordic,Noric. The ethnic English(pre-immigration descendants) are predominantly a Northern European people in this they are of a pale pigmentation. Recent studies show among young adult males(20-30yr-olds), about 56% have light hair(fair,red and light brown shades) and 74% have light eyes(blue,gray,green and hazel shades). The east is generally lighter-haired than the west, the north is generally lighter-eyed than the south. On the other red hair, very pale skin tone or freckly complexion are more common as one goes west or north.
