History has told me that there were some un-assimilated Greeks living in South-East Serbia, so the name Pirot absolutely makes sense. Majority of the toponyms in the Balkans ARE of Greek or Roman origin (basically zero Albanian) and some slavic. Many Greek and Roman toponyms were Slavicised.

If there are some toponyms with tatar-mongol roots in Serbia than they are bulgarian for sure.

As l have mentioned, we find Srb prefixes inside Bulgaria (toponyms). Where are the Bul prefixes inside Serbia?
