I don't think of him that way (prefer his good guy movies) but Rutger Hauer was a good villain in Blade Runner and Night Hawks.
That blond bad guy from Die Hard was actually a highly respected Russian Ballet artist and killed himself drinking to death after he moved to US. Too bad these highly respected European actors are typecast as villains in Hollywood movies. Not to hard to figure out why.
