Sex tourism in Africa and Southeast Asia

Based on the news and articles etc it's evident that women tend to go to Africa for sex tourism, while men go to Southeast Asia.

Do you guys see any moral in that? Or put that way, would you find it ok if one of your co-workers would go to these places for sex? Or would you rather distance yourself from people who travel around for sex?

I don't see anything morally wrong with prostitution so sex tourism isn't a bad thing in my opinion. If people are travelling from across the world to go to Thailand for sex, then the women (or ladyboys) there must be doing something right...

They have an almost endless supply of men at home willing to have sex with them for free, in fact most of them would be willing to pay for it.

I watched a program on TV quite a number of years ago about how many rich and old European men go to Asia on these sex tours and come back in a casket because they've suffered heart attacks and died there. I can't remember the stats as this was at least 10 years ago but the program was about this.

I also have a rather wealthy, and by now very old too, relative in Germany. She lives in Munich and is very fancy. More money than sense. She also used to go on these sex tours to Africa and tell everyone how she was treated like a queen. Needless to say, she was never married. She couldn't have caught anything fatal because she's nearly 80 now and she regularly went on these tours for about 20 years when she was still able to physically.

There are also large numbers of Germans who come to South Africa for a little something "exotic". My late husband was a hotel manager and we lived in the hotel together. We saw scores of Germans go through there in the summer months.

I think the funniest thing I saw there was a German guy who didn't pay. The prostitute was standing in the parking lot of the hotel, screaming at the guy. He was drunk and I couldn't hear what he was mumbling, but then she picked up a bottle, broke it on the tar and stabbed the guy in his arm. The next thing the police were involved. They took the side of the prostitute and threatened to arrest the guy if he didn't pay. Needless to say, he was so eager to pay suddenly that he forgot which currency he was supposed to be using and there were Euro notes lying all over the parking lot.
