I would like to also add Tsar Samuel. His mighty empire indicates how influential he was in the Balkans.

Quite an impressive list. A difficult choice, but, as a history buff, I will say Alexander the Great. He may just about the most influential person in history, as he helped forge several great dynasties.

socrates, plato, alexander the great and constantine the great for sure from that list, for the impact on thinking, the first two, and on geopolitics of the future, the last two. impact on both secular and religious thinking of socrates and plato are huge and christianity and islam for example took a lot from them, of course, serving their own purposes (no need to discuss it here).

I think the two ethnic-happy Bulgaroi above didn't read the poll question correctly.

It doesn't say personality with the most prominent influential role in the Balkans!

Nikola Šubić Zrinski was known across Europe for his involvement with the Battle of Szigetvár. In 1566, from August 5 to September 7, his small force (2,300 soldiers) heroically defended the little fortress of Szigetvár against the whole Ottoman host (102,000 soldiers), led by Suleiman the Magnificent in person. The Battle of Szigetvár ended with Zrinski perishing with every member of the garrison in a last desperate sortie. Suleiman had died shortly previous.
His famous sentense: "God is high in the sky, and the emperor is far away."
