Don't know where you got the Celtic-Nordid from. Irish women are known for being tough compared to other people because they had to deal with poverty(well at least that was true for most of the 19th and a good part of the 20th centuries). Now they are just normal white girls who often cling to women's rights naturally.

I think all european women nowadays are not submissive, except individual cases of course (that are seen as "pathologic" currently). The most submissive are, as someone already stated, from the arabian peninsula and some other parts of the Middle East. I don't know SE Asia enough to judge them, frankly.

In 'old' Japanese society, the women were rather submissive-subservient to the men or patriarchs of the house. That's allegedly changed though. Nowadays, if a Jap male wants a more 'traditional-old school' style male-female relationship, they go to the Fillipines.

So, apparently Fillipino women have a stronger tradition now of being submissive subservant among Asian-Pacific people. Don't know if they are the most worldwide but they seem to have a stronger rep., then any other female group in that part of the world for this particular matter.

I agree that the most submissive women are probably those from the Arab world, but I wouldn't know for sure.

Certainly not all Muslim women are submissive and subservient. Those from Mauritania are less so than most Western European women in modern times...

edit: Muslim women are generally considered to be submissive, but I know a few that could be real ball breakers as well.

Me thinks it may depend more on the individual these days.
