The Alpine subrace is very compact and robust, often dark haired with a rather round head. They are very good dealing with harsh climate like Dinarids but are even more adapted to cold temperatures and freeze which makes sense in alpine regions.

But then how come the Nordics don't look like that? Scandinavia is even colder than the Alps.

Because Alpines have to deal with heat too. Their body is adapted for both extremes.
