These are some of the prevailing myths ('general beliefs') about languages.
What are they and how did they come to be in the first place?
Do you agree or disagree with them and why?
This, being a forum with members as native speakers is a good place to discuss it.
Personally, I think quite the opposite of the title:
- German sounds determined, a bit soft yet strong and as such I would rate it as language of both friendship and love
- French is too 'nasal' and I often feel like the speaker is choking bit by bit and is about to spit out some of the vital organs at any moment, therefore I am always on needles, too uncomfortable for any intimate talk
- Italian is too melodic and aggressive...it's a language one might use to argue with a neighbor, a boss or hated politician (I'd use it to opposite gender when expressing my desire to get them to f*ck off, but I doubt that's what this quote refers to)
