If Haiti isn't Latin-American then why should Dominicans and Afro-Cubans be? I've been around the latter two groups and there is nothing Latin or Roman about their culture

    It is Latin American.

    It is not Ibero-American.

Because Afro-Cubans and Dominicans have been subjected to Spanish and Mulatto populations which relate more to other Latin Americans than Haitians do.

Take an example: I think a Mexican can relate more to someone from Chile who are very far away (or any other Latin American) than they do to Haitians despite they're geographically very close to us.

Haiti is like a black hole (no pun).
