New Forest Pony
These live semi-wild in the New Forest and are thought to descend from horses brought across with the Normans. The New Forest was designated as a royal hunting ground and the wildlife inside protected. The commoners had (and retain) rights to keep New Forest ponies in the forest and they're rounded up once a year to sell a few off (to control numbers) and check their health.
Suffolk Punch
A working horse breed like the Shire, it was traditionally used in farming in East Anglia. It is thought to be descended from horse brought by the Vikings from Jutland and bears a resemblance to the Jutland horses which pull the Carlsberg beer wagon:

Generally it's the English that breed horses in the UK and settled Irish travellers that train them. Most of the jockeys at the grand national seem to be wee little Irish guys speaking barely understandable versions of English.
