Tuscan renaissance song, ''L'Amor Dona Ch'lo Te Porto''

L’amor, donna, che io te porto
volentier voria scoprire
El mio affanno voria dire
che per te sempre suporto.

Io non so come ti posa
Descoprir l’ardente foco
Che me bruza fino al ossa
E non vedo tempo e loco;
E che, ahimè, bruzo in foco
Senza haver alcun conforto.

Non me fido a mandar messo
Perchè temo esser gabato;
S’io te passo per apresso,
Tu te volti in altro lato;
Chiusi son più giorni stato
E son anche a pegior porto.

Ahimè lasso ch’io son giunto
Che non posso il mio amore dire
A chi m’ha ferito e punto
Ma tacendo vo soffrire:
Me convien del mio servire
Questo merto io ne porto.

Two Cypriots singing in Catalan a song of the early 1500s by Mateu Fletxa.

Soleta só jo ací, si voleu que us vaja obrir, ara que n'és hora, si voleu venir.
Mon marit és a fora. On?: A Montalvà, demà bé serà migjorn abans que no tornarà.
E jo que ho sabia pla, que tostemps ho fa així, ara que n'és hora, si voleu venir.

I am here alone, if you want me to open the door, now it's the time, if you wish to come.
My husband is away. Where? At Montalvà. Until past tomorrow midday, he won't be coming back.
And I'm certain, because he always does the same, now it's the time, if you wish to come

Catalan girls were already horny in those days.

It is doubtful that King Henry VIII composed "Greensleaves". Though talented, Henry was not original. Every surviving musical manuscript in his hand is an adaptation or arrangement of a pre-existing song. These settings are often charming and exhibit a nice skill in composition.

Dang I was just about to post something I really love from Portugal but then realized it's from the Renaissance. It's only 50 to 70 years too late It's a vilancico or vilancete.

But yea there's a lot of cool stuff from the middle ages.
