It was slightly darker until it went gray. Both were brown. I would say my hair was medium brown. It is hard to remember some things of your youth.

It depends on which area. My goatee is just a bit darker than my hair, while my mustache is way lighter

Well yes, it is, NOW.
But that's because my beard is greyish white and my hair is greying dark blond.
