My mother cooked this a lot for us when we were younger i loved it.I cook i sometimes now but not often.My bf/ kids don`t like it so no point in cooking all that for just one.

We use corned beef instead of bacon for this.

My ideal meal would be enough food for a week (I no longer eat like this but still have a taste for these foods).

3 Center cut biscuits with a bowl of sawmill gravy, one serving of country fried steak (also with sawmill gravy dripped over), a ration of corn beef hash, a dish of coleslaw with a touch of horseradish, one piece of fried chicken breast, two catfish fillets with cornbreading, two beer battered white fish fillets, a dish of grits with sweet sorghum, two flip flops (fried apple turnover), a slice of butterscotch pie and a slice of pecan pie.

And molasses cookies! Sweet tea with a slice of peach in it and a cup of coffee stronger and blacker 'n Aunt Jemima.

Pierogi, bigos, Ukrainian barszcz. You guys have no idea what I'm talking about, do you? Polish food, nothing else comes even close.

So easy to gain weight in Dixie. Forgot to add to my menu: Fried onion petals, deep fried okra, and cheddar potato soup with bacon and scallion.
