Well, it's quite sad actually. Basques once inhabited entire Western-Europe(there are still noticeable genetical traces in parts of Western-Europe and to a lesser extent in all of Western-Europe) and they don't have their own country.Originally Posted by Hamvas

I fell about them the same way I feek about the Northern Irish, the Karelians, and other groups in similar situations. With that meaning that I support them, but in thought alone (and perhaps a solidarity march if it's organised, but that doesn't really count as action either in my mind).
Our own Flemish battles still need to be fought, and their battles (Basques, ...) are not mine to interfere in.

I think you should be more consistent, since their problem is very similar to ours and Spain is one of the few Europian countries which are supporting Serbia in their fight to keep Kosovo and Metohija within it's borders.. Basque es Espana!!

The Basques should hold their own land under their own government and so should the Catalans of Catalonia. As far as I'm concerned, the Normans should be governed from Rouen, the Provencals from Marseilles and the Hebrides and Northern Ireland should reform Dalriada.Every people to their land and every land to their people.

That is why they are supporting us.The point is if Nato can fight for Albanians in creating a bloody second state for them then why not the Basques? Basques are an ancient and civilized European people, of palaeo-European stock, possibly, as Karl alludes, remnant of some much larger ethnic and linguistic entity which may have inhabited much of (Western?) Europe.
Who cares. It is just a Serbian concern.
What kind of language is this supposed to be?Basque es Espana!!
