Much as I disagree with your opinions on the Spanish, I do support an independent Basque state. I have visited the area more times than I can remember and will be visiting again in 2 weeks time, so I have a certain affection for the place (best food in Europe by a mile) . Linguistically and culturally it is unique but when you bring genetics into the argument, I doubt that it is very much different from the rest of Spain.

It's not only about that. Apart of huge country, and usage of their language in every corner of the world, it's about cultural and historical which can still be seen ; It's about scientific knowledge...

Spain, on the other hand, had many centuries of non-European rule and non-European customs, not to speak of the genepool. All of these non-European traditions and genetics are deeply rooted in the tissue of the Spanish nation.

No. By geography, genetics, language, phenotype, culture, history and ethnicities, Iberia is European, Algeria is not.

At least one can be sure that applies to southern Spain. That is one of the reasons Basques have a full right to split.

I'm in favour of Basque independence (althought not via terrorism), but there is no need to consider Spain African for this. There are many other more powerful reasons.

I think their football team says it all. They refuse to accept any players who aren't Basques, they will gladly drop out of the top division instead of accepting them bastardly Spaniards .

I can't say I know a whole lot about the situation so I'm not going to either die hard support Basque nationalism or denounce it. A healthy dose of nationalism is generally a good thing however.
