    Default Western European phenotypes/subraces

    1. BERID

    Description:
Low-skulled, pyknomorphic and somewhat reduced Mediterranid-Cro-Magnoid intermediate type. Went through some process of alpinization, but still contains a lot of cromagnid features. Related to other cromagnid types such as Paleo Atlantid in the North and Berberid in the South.

    Body:
Short to Medium height, Endomorph to Mesomorph

    Status:
Core region in the mountainous regions of the Southern Iberian Peninsular and South Italy, especially Sardinia. Nowadays also found in North and South America, although much less frequent than Gracil Mediterranid and other adjacient types.

    2. BASKID

    Description:
Ancient, dinariform, mostly Atlanto-Mediterranid type associated with the Basques. It is the most western extension of dinariform types and contains some crogmagnid elements, too. Pigmentation and hair color variable from black to red and blond hair.

    Body:
    Medium height to tall, Mesomorph

    Status:
The Baskid type is restricted to Northern Spain and South West France. It is rare outside of this region. One of the most seldom European phenotypes.

    3. GRACILE MEDITERRANID (Synonyms: Ibero-Insular, Mediterranid, Small Mediterranean, West-Mediterranean)

    Description:
The "typical Mediterranids" or "Mediterranids proper" of the northern Mediterranean coast and adjacent territories. They are characterized by a medium to short, gracile skeleton, mesomorphy and a small skull. Gracile-Mediterranids are relatively dark compared to Europeans in general.

    Body:
    Short to Medium height, Ektomorph

    Status:
The Gracil Mediterranid type is an important population element in the Iberian peninsula and in South Italy, along the western European coast. Nowadays it can also be found in North and South America and other parts of the world in multitudinous blends. This type is frequent and its population is stable.

    4. ATLANTO-MEDITERRANID

    Description:
Straight-nosed and strongly dolichocephalic Mediterranid type, the living equivalent of the skeletal Megalithic type. Blend between Atlantid and Gracil Mediterranid. It is markedly taller and more robust than the Gracilmediterranid type, by which it is outnumbered and often mixed.

    Body:
    Medium height to tall, Ektomorph

    Status:
The Atlanto Mediterranid type is an important population element in the Northern Iberian peninsula, in Italy, and northward along the western European coast. Nowadays it can also be found in North and South America and other parts of the world. This type is frequent and its population is stable.

    5. ATLANTID (Synonyms: Nordo-Mediterranid)

    Description:
A blend between North Atlantid and Atlantomediterranid, typically of dark pigmentation. Found throughout western Europe, particularly along the coast of France. Often in blends with Alpinid, Dinarid, Baskid and other adjacient types. A common type in the French.

    Body:
    Medium height, Ektomorph

    Status:
Traditionally found across regions of Atlantic coast, common for France. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and Australia.

    6. NORTH ATLANTID (Synonyms: Northwestern)

    v

    Description:
Predominantly Nordid (Keltic Nordid) blend with Atlantid. Associated with megalithic (Celtic) monuments and long barrow burial sites. North Atlantids are typically dark-haired and light-eyed, and constitute an important element in the British Isles, and particularly in Wales. Sometimes found in Scandinavia, West Germany and France.

    Body:
    Medium height to Tall, Ektomorph

    Status:
Traditionally found across regions of Northwestern Europe. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and Australia.

    7. PALEO-ATLANTID (Synonyms Tydal, Cromagnid)

    Description:
Cromagnid aboriginal of Western Europe with a dark pigmentation for Northwestern European standards. Related to Dalofaelids, Brünns and Berids. Resembles the Paleolithic Cro Magnons. In Norway represented by the Tydal type. Robust, short-legged and long-armed, and dolichocephalic.

    Body:
    Tall, Mesomorph

    Status:
Small isolated populations of this type have been living in Norway, Wales and Scotland for millennia. Nowadays the type is dispersed all around Western Europe as a result of increased mobility. Nowhere found in any significant concentration. Paleo Atlantid elements exist in Germany and France, too.

    Body:
    Tall, Mesomorph

    Status:
Traditionally found in Ireland. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and other parts of the world, even though it is rare outside of Ireland. Population decreasing as a result of low fertility, intermixture and migration. As the distribution is relatively local the future of Brünn is unclear.

    Description:
Unreduced and depigmented northern European Upper Paleolithic survivor of Cro-Magnid type, Continuing the classic type of the hunter-gatherers of the temperate-cold/cold regions. 10. BORREBY (Synonyms: North Alpinoid, Fehmarner, Jähren)

    Description:
Partially alpinized, brachycephalized, somewhat reduced and mostly depigmented Cromagnid type of Northern Europe. Modern Borrebys are derived, historically, from the old northwestern European coastal fishing population. In many places, such as the Norwegian coastal district of Jähren, Borrebys seem to have been among the first humans to settle permanently, during the late Mesolithic.

    Body:
    Tall, Endomorph to Mesomorph

    Status:
Core population in Denmark, South Norway and Northern Germany. Found across many regions of Northern Europe. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and other parts of the world. Population is robust, but slowly decreasing due to intermixture and low fertility.

Red hair is frequent. Commonest in the British Isles where in places it forms the principal element in the population. Also a major element in Flanders, Southwestern Germany and the Alps.

    Body:
Medium height to Tall, Ektomorph to Mesomorph

    Status:
Traditionally found on the British Islands and Benelux. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and Australia. Population decreasing as a result of low fertility, intermixture and migration.

    13. NORDID (Synonyms: Skandonordid, Hallstatt Nordid, Teutonordid, Göta)

    Description:
The classic Nordid type. Strongly depigmented Northern European dolicho-mesocephalic leptomorphs. It presents the end point of the distribution and is rare in its pure form, but frequently found in mixtures with various of the adjacient types.

    Body:
    Tall, Ektomorph

    Status:
Core population in Southern Sweden. Found across many regions of Northern Europe. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and other regions. Population decreasing as a result of low fertility, intermixture and migration.

    Status:
Core population in France, West Germany and Benelux. Found across many regions of Central Europe. Nowadays it can also be found in North America and other regions. Population relatively stable.

I found this and I think these are fairly decent morphs and descriptions on the overall, being a good guide to Western European phenotypes. There are other phenotypes from other parts of the world on the source's website as well. Keep in mind that this is not strict and that the distribution of phenotypes are more like areas where a given phenotype is more predominant rather than strictly bordered, limited areas. Mixes/combinations of two or more types might also (and do) occur frequently (eg., Atlanto-Dinarid).

It would be nice if their Phenotype Mixer worked.

It is quite a good source, better than Coon`s "brilliant" work if you ask me.

Berid can also be called Southern Cromagnid, or PaleoSardinian. I'd just like to add that.
