It seems, we both have been through Home Computer Hell

A friend of mine had an Amstrad, which in many ways were better than the infamous Commodore 64. But sometimes product quality can't compete against marketing.

This was my first computer, the Texas TI-99 4A:



There were no games available for it, where I lived, and internet shopping was not invented yet, so I had to create my own games. Which was good. I became one of the early Basic programmers of the 1980's.

Street Fighter II made me think that fighting was ok.
Mortal Kombat made me violent, as I am to this day.
Super Mario Bros. made me think it is ok to eat magic mushrooms and engage in turtle related vioence.
