    Stealing Beauty.

An entire movie whose plot is "Liv Tyler is beautiful."
    I'm okay with it.

To be honest, I was bored watching it, but the movie had good points and arguments that made you think. When it comes to the character's genius, it has unrealistic aspects. This scene explained his genius pretty well. However, the history argument scene with the Harvard douche, doesn't make sense to me. Ok, he has the ability to see the solution by just looking at math problems. He has this talent, and it just makes sense to him, but he also knows about underrated history articles and keeps them in his mind? The all-knowing genius doesn't make sense to me. Mozart really played the piano well, but I bet he can't beat Fidemaster in chess.

Everyone has talents in different areas. You get pushed into the Math/Science path when you do well in the Math section of those standardized tests.
Seeing Matt Damon's character in that film, made me comfortable with my life choice at a time when my life choices started to matter.

The next film I saw featuring a mathematician was Aronofsky's "pi". It did capture the essence of a mind that wanders and spins around and around always looking for that "Eureka" moment. The solution at the end is devastating.

Aliens = Native Americans, humans = white people. White people civilization was portrayed as evil and moronic as opposed to the "good" native civilization. I think politics and virtue signaling should be kept out of movies. They chose all white cast because of the anti-colinalist narrative whose goal is to shame white people. The storyline of the first avatar movie was very cliche and expectable too (at 50% of the plot you could see the ending), idk why many people say it was such an amazing movie. A good movie for me is like the "Shutter island": the ending is unexpected and no politics/virtue signaling BS.
I wasn't particularly impressed by Shutter Island; the concept behind the narrative isn't particularly novel, reminding me of 'A Beautiful Mind' and 'The Others' from 2001. Moreover, the plot is poorly developed, with too much emphasis on meaningless conversations and insufficient focus on the main character's connections with others in his life, such as his wife. We're presented with only a few scenes, lacking emotional intensity.

Defence of the Realm (1985) - Keeps a good tense atmosphere throughout, although the story isn't that interesting. 7/10
Red Dawn (1984) (again) - A bit crappy, could have been a lot better, even with the low budget. 5/10
Fail Safe (1964) - Not a fan of Sidney Lumet movies so was never going to love it, and it never feels very real, but the ending packs a decent punch. 6.5/10
I See a Dark Stranger (1946) - About an anti-English Irishwoman who moves to England during WW2 and becomes a Nazi agent. Very nice film and surpisingly funny and charming, suspenseful but no heaviness. Deborah Kerr was always great. 8/10.
