Well French can distinguize according to they by the zone of eyes and nose, we can distinguize they because the sounds they use make wrinkles around the mouth, specially visible in women

    Default VERY vague question

Distinguish in photographs ? In person ? On the telephone ? I would distinguish them mainly by speech. French is nasal; Spanish is not. Also, I have a nodding acquaintance with both languages. I could probably not distinguish them in photographs. Finally, by their carriage. Spanish men carry themselves more proudly than any other men I have ever met, not arrogantly, but with an innate sense of self-worth.

Phenotypically.. I can tell northern French, eastern French from the regions bordering Germany, and Corsicans from Iberians.

I can SOMETIMES tell southeastern French, near Italy, from Spaniards due to Dinaric elements.

But Brittany down to the area near Toulouse, I can't tell them from a Spaniard.

The Spanish girl is that one with weird fringe and talking out loud. The French girl is that one with überclassic hairstyle who's complaining about everything.

Both the french and the spanish vary a lot depending on the regions they are from. I mean, a man from Lille and one from Seville will probably look far different. Two basques, one from the french area and the other from Bilbao and sorroundings, will probably look very similar. A parisian will probably look a lot different than a madrileno and so on... Phenotypical continuity among bordering nations is often just individual, not collective.

I would often tell people from Spain and France in their dark and fair types, provided they were like these:

But the continuum certainly makes people like the one below be much more difficult to tell, IMO.
