Why do people's say that Putin is "anti-Russia?"

I've come across a number of Russians on the internet who have accused Putin of being anti-Russian and anti-Slavic, beyond just the run-of-the-mill complaints about corruption. Note that these were not the protester-types, but generally conservative people. It struck me as strange since building up Russian nationalism has been a big part of Putin's program. Why is this?

There are different forms of nationalism. I can see how an argument could be made that Putin prefers a strong Russia at the expense of ethnic and cultural homogeneity of core Russian regions.

Where did you get this from?

In Russia today if you declare on public 'I'm Russian and proud of it' you'll be accused of being Neo-Nazi, racist, сhauvinist etc with a good chance of being prosecuted by police. But change the word 'Russian' for any other ethnicity of Russian Federation and it's absolutely fine. In general there is a huge discrimination of ethnic Russians in laws and attitude of governmental institutions.

The image of Putin as a Russian Nazi is a silly piece of Western propaganda. Actually Putin is a pro-Western liberal, an adherent of Yeltsin, antistalinism and Perestroika.

Is modern France a Nationalist country? No, she is a liberal and Anti-French being. Where the French feel like an ancient minority. Same with modern Russia.

He's more pro-tajik than pro-Russian Most of Nationalists dislike him, mostly, because of non visa regime with the central Asian republics and people from Caucasus moving to bigger Russian cities where they act like pigs, call Russian women hoes and disobey the law.
