A question regarding Fyrom, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria

The people belong to their land. And if Serb(or whatever for that matter) tanks are to roll in, there will be Bulgarian ones as well, mark my word.

Novi is spinning again the facts so that some kind of Greeko-Serboi alliance against Bulgaria is revived again. Unfortunately its 2013 and the situation is quite different. As a start Bulgaria and Greece are alleys in NATO and EU and are probably in the minority where immediate Balkan neighbours have good relations. Bulgaria and Greece have no reasons to hate each other anymore, but to collaborate because presently no Bulgarian majority populated lands are situated in Greece and viceversa. Bulgarians have always fought for lands that are populated with Bulgarian majority (ethnic Bulgarian lands). Do we have such presently in Greece? Dont think so. So we actually are on the right track and I can see the relations deepening.
The Greeks I think can presently feel the negative consequances of backing Serbian interests in Macedonia: you have a state who now claims Greek history and figures and the Greeks and the Bulgarians know very well the real ethnic origin of the Macedonians... Macedonism was a Serbian mean to debulgarize the region, but its very obvious also that Macedonism is not in Greece favour, its against its interests. So both Bulgaria and Greece have interest in making the Macedonians embrace their real history. So actually Greece and Bulgarias interests are against Serbian one in Macedonia: Serboi are supporting macedonism in Macedonia because they want to keep the bulgarophobia there. They know that serbianism there is a lost cause.

Pontios, it would certainly be a PEACEFUL border. Throughout history, it has demonstrated, both Greeks and Serbs can work together and have mutual understanding. Serbs have made great sacrifices for the interests of the Greek people and state, likewise Greeks have done the same for Serbs. Before l hear some petty comment about basketball games, when it comes to the crunch, both peoples do look out for each other!

If the option came to choose whether Fyrom be integrated into Serbia or Bulgaria, speaking from a Greek perspective (if l was a Greek), then it would be clear, a solution with Serbia will insure peace and security. A larger and continuous border with Bulgaria, will pose massive concerns, it could arouse the Bulgars to seek more territories from Greece and Serbia, so a state that was once a Samuil Empire, could be re-lived! A common border with Serbia will keep Bulgarian ambitions in-check!

Bulgaria and Greece are part of the same alliance (NATO), whereas Serbia is not. So, logically, a safer border would be with Bulgaria

It is almost impossible for Macedonia to join with Serbia, taking into consideration the current demographics between the two countries (Albanians). If there was to be a union of some sought, it should be with Bulgaria, because that is the only logical and historically correct thing to do.

Macedonians are different people to Serbs. We have a different language and culture to Serbs, unlike Bulgarians, which we have much more in common with.

Greeks seem not to care what we do, nor do we care about there opinion on us. Seeing as though Serbs and Greeks love each other so much, I recommend a union, which excludes Macedonia.

Are you asking what Greeks would prefer or what the most logical answer is?

If you ask me i prefer Serbia next to us for sure but the most logical solution for FYROb is to join Bulgaria. The population itself is mostly Bulgarian with messed up historical opinion about their origin . i dont doubt they would fit well to Serbia as well, but Bulgaria would never permit so, when Serbia seems to have less claims and to be readier to accept to a Bulgarian option.

But really Greeks dont care about this country or its fate as far as it doesnt mess with our history.

Unfortunately, this land has been the cause of conflicts since the dawn of time.

When/If the Albanians start separating the Western parts, the rest of Macedonia will be returned to Serbia most likely. And this is how our sad story ends.
