The oldest pub in Ireland (& in Europe and I'd make a good bet that it is the oldest in the world) is Sean's Bar in Athlone on the Co Roscommon side. It dates back to AD 900.
Mulligan's is an underrated pub in Dublin

Bruce Springsteen was just in Ireland. I had no idea he has Irish ancestry. https://www.independent.ie/entertain...349246278.html

"American superstar Bruce Springsteen has shared more photos of his time in Ireland. He looked relaxed and at home in images he posted of his visit to his ancestral village of Rathangan, Co Kildare."

He had 3 sold out concerts at the RDS Arena in Dublin. People came from all over even places like Australia. Lots of news about him in the Irish media. He has legendary status in Ireland. He's very good mates with Shane MacGowan for years. Shane is not in the best of health these days.

It's amazing how all the top notch American musicians and comedians all come through Dublin and Cork now. Ireland is very supportive of our pop culture.

Yes they love American musicians and comedians etc as do most of the rest of the world. Bruce Springsteen is loved here in Australia as well and when he came here it was a huge event and any tours are sold out.

Garth Brooks is super popular in Ireland and I don't think I've ever heard any of his music. Just reading now that Garth Brooks mother Colleen McElroy Carroll is of Irish ancestry so he has a connection to there also.

Garth Brook is a country musician that had huge crossover success in the 1990s, not unlike Kenny Rogers in the 1980s. I assume lots of country musicians are Ulster Scots. As for Australian groups, I like AC/DC.

Love AC/DC. They blocked off Fremantle last weekend for an AC/DC festival. Bon Scott lived in Fremantle for quite a few years. In the past I worked with a mother and daughter who were mad AC/DC fans. They went to their last concert in Perth in 2015 which was huge. There was about 80,000 people at it. Their concert Live at River Platt is incredible.

Yeah, AC/DC is such a fun band and I still listen to them today. This is my favorite song of theirs:

Perth seems like a cool city, very clean and modern. I noticed you have a fairly new stadium, Optus Stadium... looks nice. Is Fremantle one of the nicer areas of Perth? Looks very historic, Round House, etc.

True story ... Angus Young lived in the same suburb as my mother before ACDC became famous. Angus apparently asked my mother out but she knocked him back as she was already dating my Father before they got married.
