Default French sound to you like a Romance/latin language ?

French is a latin language but with more germanic influence so i often wondered that question :
    When you hear a french speaking that sound more southern/romance (italian,spanish,portuguese) or more northern/germanic (german,english ...) ?

It is rather the outher way around - French influenced German languages (mainly English). In pronunciation I fail to see any similarities.

It sounds kind of similar to Italian, but nevertheless different, because I don`t understand much. But it is to 100% a Romanic language
I can hardly detect any German influence, this is more wishful thinking.

There are Germanic influences on French. Linguists talk about Celtic or Germanic "glottal stops" in French. I've always noticed that Spanish and Italian have a more Latinate sound. Spanish and Italian pronounces every vowel and every sound is clear. With French, words tend to elide into each other giving it a bulky sound.

I say, in English vowels are: 'Ay, ee, eye, oh, you.'

In Spanish, Latin and Italian they are: 'Ah, ay, ee, o, oo'

In French: 'Hunh, hunh, hunh, hunh, hunh.'

There are Germanic influences on all Latinate languages including Late Latin, but in no wise has Germanic influenced the pronunciation of Latin, Spanish and Italian.
