Me saying that only a man with a serious brain damage would choose Greece over Turkey doesn't come from "theological" reasons, as much it does from mere practical reasons of access to much bigger than market than Balkans combined and an opportunity to expand to even a bigger one after the situation in Iraq and Syria calms down.

Back to the main question; if you ask any Croat on street what do they consider to be more important (religion or their meta ethnicity), they would all chose their Catholic-Germano-Ugraic heritage over their Slavic one.

Just as Bosniaks do with Islamic-Irano-Ottoman heritage we improved with our local customs.
