Here's one I have been guilty of myself but I've had to come to the realization it is not true.. blonde hair and blue eyes and "eastern European" features in Greeks are always 100% due to Slavic influence.

They may very well be on much of the mainland, but when you see people of the same appearance on the islands, in Calabria, Sicily and other ancient Greek places where there were no Slavs, it makes more sense to attribute it to the Indo-European wave of migration that brought the Greek language in the first place, from northeastern Europe.

My favourites:

Atypical-looking individuals from a particular country MUST HAVE foreign ancestry from a few generations ago. Rather than being the products of a combination of recessive genes, genetic drift, lifestyle/environmental/nutritional factors and numerous other perfectly plausible explanations.

This is not really a myth though, as genetics also show that Northerners have more pre-Neolithic hunter & gatherer admixture than Southerners.
