I know that, and I am saying that first and foremost the language is dying from the inside before it is conquered from the outside.
The real problem here being that newer generations of Greeks don't learn their language and/or they don't appreciate its vastness and richness. They don't speak it correctly and they butcher the language in everyday use. Foreign loan words is the tip of the iceberg here, the problem is much deeper.
I am sure English speakers can totally identify with what I am saying here, in regards to their own language and the way it is spoken today by the majority of the population.
