I used to ride, English style (dressage, show jumping, etc.) I was in Pony Club and competed in shows. I also worked at the stable and trained green horses to ride. I rode from ages 7-14, and the I had to quit because my parents wouldn't buy me a horse.

I don't want my kids getting into horses though, because it's expensive.

A lot of people in my area growing up had horses. So while my family never did, I had friends who certainly did and yes, I used to ride from time to time with them.

I always enjoyed it and was only thrown off once.
