I like croissants and i knew that cool story behind it.

Btw the Turkish siege in Vienna caused so many other new developments in Europe and caused to start a fashion craze named Turquerie. The Hapsburgs but especially the French has admired the janissary and their music band mehter. The very first French military uniforms has been created after that by inspiring from the red colored uniforms of the Turkish soldiers. Also the very first military anthems of France has been created by inspiring from the mehter music.

The court musician of France, Jean Baptiste Lully composed the very first French military anthems and he also composed some Turkish mehter inspired songs like this one, named as "An anthem for the ceremony of the Turks" meaning the soldiers and mehter band;

The real first coffeehouse in Austria opened in Vienna in 1683 after the Battle of Vienna, by using supplies from the spoils obtained after defeating the Turks. The officer who received the coffee beans, Polish military officer of Ukrainian origin Jerzy Franciszek Kulczycki, opened the coffee house and helped popularize the custom of adding sugar and milk to the coffee. 'Melange is the typical Viennese coffee, which comes mixed with hot foamed milk and a glass of water.

The devşirme declined in the 16th and 17th centuries due to a number of factors. After 1568, the 'boy harvest' was only occasionally made. In 1632, the Janissaries attempted an unsuccessful coup against Murad IV, who then imposed a loyalty oath on them. In 1648, the devşirme-based recruiting system of the Janissary corps formally came to an end; attempts to reintroduce the old system failed due to the resistance of the new Turkish members of the Janissary corps in 1703, who wanted the coveted posts exclusively for their own families.
