Russian Mail Order Brides: Why Russian women look abroad

Mary's claims are totally opposite to the article, interesting. According to her russian women are privillegged, have good life, many sexual partners and men are objects and servants, why to escape such a paradise?

But what I can gather from this study (written by an American) is that Russian women are dissatisfied with Russian men and would rather seek husbands elsewhere.

I am trying to get an understanding here from real people (and not an internet article) what they think.

I've noticed the women where I live who are young and from ex-Sov. territory are very pretty and intelligent. They often have degrees in linguistics and I can talk to some even about IE linguistic theories. They are often surprised I know of such but often times I'm talking to these girls as waitresses even here in the states (!!!). They tell me they can do 10 times better here in the states even as waitress then back home in where they're from doing whatever else.

Naturally, if they hook up with a guy in the states with an average job, even average job USA guy is an infinitely better oppurtunity then they're options back home apparently.

I posted it in my other thread i do it again the 2 reasons are

1. There are more russian women than men

2. Most of these so called russian women are ukrainians and other women former soviet union countries and maybe even other eastern european countries.



and Mail order bride sites are all scam.

Do living conditions differ that greatly in Ukraine and Russia?

One important thing is that EE women tend to idealize westerners, I think. They are less patriarchalic and that perhaps makes them try more, but in the case of mail order bride...there is no such need.

I know it is a lot of text to read, but I found it quite interesting. Please try to read most of it before commenting. I am especially interested in the opinions of Russian women here, and how they view their future as wives and mothers.

I am highlighting in red what stood out to me when I was reading the article.

I met a few of these woman here, most of them screwed around while their older married husbands were away. After 3 years they left their husbands with half of his assets.

Russia have good man as in other countries.in Eastern Europe some are girls who are dreaming of a prince on a white horse.
I think that brides mail that specifically look for a foreign husband is nonsense.

Well, what's interesting to know that in reality, very few Russian women, in proportion to the population of Russia, actually go to those "mail order" bride agencies. But we can't stereotype all of those women who go to those websites. yes, some are only looking for visas or money, but some do want to find a man. All of those girls have their reasons to go to those agencies.
