Genetically, a mix of both with more southern genes. My very rough estimation is 50% being southern and 30% being eastern.

Culturally, I think the eastern part is stronger( because of language, music and traditional clothes ), but there are definitely a good amount of southern traditions too.

Mentally, I think the southern way of thinking suits us better.

Geographically they are southern. Phenotypically and culturally they are eastern.

Music and traditional clothes are Balkanic, not Eastern. Horo dances can be found in Greece, Ro, Ser etc. The traditional clothes are almost the same. Culturally we are more similar to the Greeks/Romanians/Serbs than to Russians (clothes, believes, myths etc.)
