You gave me linguistic sources and their roots, it doesn't mean their the same people as ancient. They are slavs who assimilated with small number ancient Bulgarian people. The ancient bulgars and Bulgarians had a small 20-25% Mongoloid admixture
( Btw I noticed that some pictures of Roma bulgarians got mixed up with ethnic bulgarians )
Bulgarians look more European not like Turks who look more West Asian.

What did you expect them to be like after living together with slavs for thousands of years. Why an Anatolian Turk and Uzbek dont have same outlook ?
This is also interesting to read: HOW THE BULGARIANS BECAME EUROPEANS http://www.vagabond.bg/index.php?opt...k=view&id=1278

Only Turks from Turkey (and Turkophiles) think Bulgarian Turks are Turks when the reality says otherwise. Bulgarian Turks are Bulgarian Muslims. Onur here is a good example of a Bulgarian with a world class case of Stockholm Syndrome but he has betrayed the Bulgarian state so I suppose that is good enough of a criteria to be a Turk.

Original Bulgars were Türks from North Euroasia, while modern ones are predominantly southeuros not the North Euroasian like ancient Bulgar Türks

People here are totally missing the point!
The question is are the Muslims, living in Bulgaria that speak Turkish and call themselves Turks really Turk or not.
Nobody is speaking about us real Bulgarians,we are Orthodox Christians and we speak a Slavic language

Yes, they are. Those from eastern Macedonia for example show strong turanid influence in their look which is completely absent among the other ethnicities there.

Balkan Turks are only partially proper Turks (heavy Rumeli mixing and assimilation)
these are (I think) from Macedonia:
