Default What to do in Istanbul?

I will be in Istanbul around mid August for a few days and I guess it's near the Halkali Istanbul? Just wondering what to do or see from Turkey's apricity posters.

    Cheers!

Thanks but I fear for my life for my anti-Ataturk views.

There are too many places to see in İstanbul. Make a program/list.

Hmm, Halkalı is too far away from city unfortunately... However you're lucky, there is a suburban railway, where you can go to Sirkeci(where is quite in center of İstanbul).

Top 5 places I'd recommend(except extra-known places such as Taksim, Sultanahmet, Prince Islands etc.)

1.Beşiktaş district(Europe). In center of Beşiktaş there is Naval Museum and the famous "İnönü" stadium of Beşiktaş. You can also visit Naval Museum. In Beşiktaş district, there are nice places such as Arnavutköy, Ortaköy and Bebek.
2.Kadıköy(Anatolia), again it is center of another famous sports team(Fenerbahçe) and there has "Şükrü Saraçoğlu" stadium. Moda neighborhood and Bağdad square worth to see.
3.Üsküdar(Anatolia). Maiden's Tower, you can go there with a short boat tour from Üsküdar. Çamlıca Hill is also worth to see, since there has a good panorama of İstanbul.
4.Beykoz(Anatolia), Joshua's Hill is again a good place for panorama and if you wanna see an old Polish village, go Polonezköy(unfortunately it requires taxi since there are no buses to there). Also old Venetian Yoros Castle worth to see.
5.Beyazıt square(Europe), quite a nice place to visit. Place called "Çorlulu Ali Paşa" is where I've smoked the best shisha ever, also there are such places worth to see/visit like Beyazıt Tower, Forum of Theodosius and Beyazıt Mosque there.

For other suggestions, Levent and Nişantaşı(both in Europe) are cool and luxury places I'd say.

Of course İstanbul is a big city and those places I listed are quite a small part of there.

Hun was not an ethnicity itself, but a large tribal confederative structure.. That is why Turks already had a rich genetic pool before the full conquest of Anatolia region..

i guess you know historical places and monuments. Additionally you should visit prince islands, sapphire skyscraper terrace (seventh tallest building in Europe) on 23 april, there is an amusement park opening, there would be 7th fastest roller coaster of Europe. İ'm not living in İstanbul but i can send you my phone number if anything i can do, i would gladly to help.
